Translators' Tricks of the Trade
While some of these translation topics will bring about a sense of deja vu amongst even nearnear-beginners, beginners, other issues addressed by this "toolkit of strategies" are rather less frequently met with. And while some of the strategems suggested here are pretty standard translation techniques, some at the other end of the spectrum are more like ruses that can occasionally be called upon to get you out of a hole. :-)
In any case, never forget the three primary considerations of so much translation work: context, context and context.
